Our Pastor ![]() Elk Grove Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, called the Rev. James Kosko as our new pastor late in 2006 and he began his ministry with us on December 1st. He brings to Elk Grove Congregational Church an educational background that includes a B.A. Degree in Fine Arts and Psychology, an M.A. Degree in Organization Development, and a Master of Divinity Degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary. Pastor James comes to Elk Grove Congregational Church from his home in the wine country of Sonoma County in Northern California. He initially started his ministerial career as an Intern working half time at a local church, while completing his Master of Divinity Degree. From this internship position he advanced in his ministerial career path through much involvement in the wider church, until accepting the call to Elk Grove Congregational Church, UCC. He was ordained during 2007.
Pastor James brings to Elk Grove Congregational Church the commitment to a fresh outlook and a new spirit for work in the church and community setting. He also brings a dedication to collaboration within the ecumenical setting in Elk Grove, working with the youth in the community, reaching out to all those who seek help in defining their spiritual path and providing a welcoming church environment on which the people of Elk Grove can depend.
