Compassion Fund

Our Compassion Fund is designed to help those within our church family or local community who have critical needs.  This fund is often collected based on special needs and is issued for specific situations.

Our Mission in the Philippines

We have a developing relationship with the United Church of Christ in the Philippines – the UCCP.  Through relationships between congregants and Pastors in the UCCP, we are able to support their outreach ministries.  These ministries include clothing for flood victims, music for churches, and books for Seminary libraries.  Here are some of the clothing recipients enjoying their gently used gifts.

Friends and Family Fun Friday

Every fourth Friday of the month between 6-9 p.m.our Fellowship hall is full of fun and food during our Friends and Family Fun Friday.  Most recently, we assembled hygiene kits for the Haitian refuges and gathered clothes for the Elk Grove Clothes Closet.  Come and join us for games, food, crafts and fellowship.  Expect to laugh....a lot.

Boy Scouts

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.

Our church proudly sponsors Boy Scout Troop #288.  They meet here every Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m.  Troop 288 recently joined with us to sponsor Love in a Shoebox for the WIND youth center for homeless youth in Sacramento.

Girl Scouts

About Girl Scouts of the USA

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls—all girls—where, in an accepting and nurturing environment, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In partnership with committed adult volunteers, girls develop qualities that will serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong values, social conscience, and conviction about their own potential and self-worth.

Our church sponsors Girl Scout troop #1134 which meets in our Fellowship Hall at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month.

FOOD ADDICTS IN RECOVERY ANONYMOUS (FA)

Are you having trouble controlling the way you eat?  You are not alone.  Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous (FA) is a fellowship of individuals who, through shared experience and mutual support are recovering from food addiction.  Members include men and women of all ages.  Some have been obese; others have been anorexic, bulimic, or so obsessed with food or weight that they could not freely live their lives.  Typically, people with food addictions have unsuccessfully attempted to solve their problems with food through years of diet and exercise, but many have found long-term recovery through FA.  Meetings are free and there are no weigh-ins.

We now have a meeting at Elk Grove Congregational Church each Wednesday from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall.  For other area meetings or more information about FA visit our website at www.foodaddicts.org.
